Shobha Naidu
Sobha Naidu (1956 – 14 October 2020) was an Indian Kuchipudi dancer, teacher, and choreographer. A disciple of the celebrated Kuchipudi maestro Vempati Chinna Satyam, she became one of the foremost practitioners of the art form. Known for her role as Satyabhama in traditional dance dramas, she was the principal of the Srinivasa Kuchipudi Art Academy in Hyderabad. Over the course of her career, Sobha Naidu trained thousands of students and choreographed numerous dance-dramas. In recognition of her significant contributions to classical dance, Sobha Naidu was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2001 and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1991. Vazhuvoor Ramaiah Pillai
Vazhuvoor Ramaiah Pillai (1910–1991) was an Indian Bharatanatyam dance teacher and choreographer. Early life Vazhuvoor Bagyathammal Ramaiah Pillai was born in 1910 to Parthiban and Bagyathammal in Vazhuvoor. He learned the arts of Nattuvangam and Bharatanatyam from his maternal uncle Maanikka Nattuvanar. Career He introduced innovative trials in Bharatanatyam. He advocated traditional ''vazhuvoor bani'' from his ancestors, dating to the days of the Chola dynasty. He popularized this ''bani'' around the globe, especially through his star disciple Kamala. He implemented Rama Natak Kiruti, Tyagaraya Swami Kiruti, Bharathiyar songs, Kutralak Kuravanji, Arunachala Kavi songs, and Oottukkadu Venkata Kavi songs through his teaching.
