Shinichirō Sawai
was a Japanese film director and screenwriter. Career Born in Hamamatsu, Sawai studied German at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. Graduating in 1961, he joined the Toei Company as an assistant director and worked under such directors as Masahiro Makino and Noribumi Suzuki. He also collaborated on scripts such as those for the 'Torakku Yarō, Truck Yarō' series. He made his debut as a director in 1981 with ''Nogiku no haka'', a vehicle for the Japanese idol, idol singer Seiko Matsuda. He won the Directors Guild of Japan New Directors Award in 1985, and the Japan Academy Prize for Director of the Year in 1986. Maison Ikkoku
is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Rumiko Takahashi. It was serialized in Shogakukan's manga magazine '' Big Comic Spirits'' from November 1980 to April 1987, with the chapters collected into 15 volumes. ''Maison Ikkoku'' is a romantic comedy involving a group of eccentric people who live in a boarding house in 1980s Tokyo. The story focuses primarily on the gradually developing relationships between Yusaku Godai, a poor student down on his luck, and Kyoko Otonashi, a young, recently widowed boarding house manager. The manga was adapted into a 96-episode anime television series created by Studio Deen that ran on Fuji TV from March 1986 to March 1988. , is a 1995 Japanese tokusatsu television series. B-Fighter is short for "Beetle Fighter". It was part of Toei's Metal Hero Series franchise. It dealt with three members of the prestigious fighting against the evil forces of the otherworldly Jamahl Empire. The action footage and props were reused for the U.S. adaptation of '' Big Bad Beetleborgs'' and it was followed by spin-off series; '' B-Fighter Kabuto''. Storyline Insects all over the world begin to swarm for unknown reasons, with other animals and plants acting strangely as well. It is the last of the "Space Sheriff Series" of the broader Metal Hero Series franchise, it is a sequel the previous two being '' Space Sheriff Gavan'' and '' Space Sheriff Sharivan''. G-Men '75
was a long-running prime-time popular television detective series in Japan. It aired on Saturday nights in the 9:00–9:54 p.m. time slot on the Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) network from May 24, 1975 to April 3, 1982. A sequel, ''G-Men '82'', followed, as did the specials. It had also been broadcast in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Since Hong Kong was one of the filming locations, it was very popular there. With several updates and cast changes, it ran for 7 years. Selected episodes are available on DVD. Plot The story revolved around a special detective agency, the eponymous G-Men. The principal character, who spanned the entire series (and continued into the sequel and specials), was Superintendent Tetsuya Kuroki, who was portrayed by Tetsurō Tamba.
