Shin-Shōnan Bypass
The (lit. New Shōnan Bypass) is a 4-laned toll road in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. It is owned and managed by Central Nippon Expressway Company. Overview Officially the road is designated as a bypass for Japan National Route 1, National Route 1. It is also classified as a road for and access is controlled with interchanges and junctions in a similar manner to Expressways of Japan, national expressways in Japan. An existing section of the road is also planned to be incorporated into the route of the Ken-Ō Expressway once adjoining sections of that expressway have been completed. The first section of the road (8.4 km from Fujisawa Interchange to Chigasaki-nishi Interchange) was opened to traffic in 1988. Electronic toll collection (ETC) is a wireless system to automatically collect the usage fee or Road pricing, toll charged to vehicles using toll roads, HOV lanes, toll bridges, and toll tunnels. It is a faster alternative which is replacing Toll house, toll booths, where vehicles must stop and the driver manually pays the toll with cash or a card. In most cases, vehicles using the system are equipped with an automated radio transponder device. When the vehicle passes a roadside toll reader device, a radio signal from the reader triggers the transponder, which transmits back an identifying number which registers the vehicle's use of the road, and an electronic payment system charges the user the toll. A major advantage is the driver does not have to stop, reducing traffic delays. In the west, the main route terminates near the resort town of Hakone, while a short branch route terminates at an intersection with National Route 135 which leads to the resort town of Atami and the Izu Peninsula. Ken-Ō Expressway
The , or , is a partially completed ticket system toll expressway in Japan. It is owned and operated by the Central Nippon Expressway Company and East Nippon Expressway Company. In conjunction with the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line and the Bayshore Route of the Shuto Expressway, the expressway will form a full outer ring road of Tokyo. It is signed as National Route 468 as well as C4 under the "2016 Proposal for Realization of Expressway Numbering."
