Shida, Taipei
Shida () is a neighborhood in Daan District, Taipei, Taiwan. It is located adjacent to the southern end of Yongkang Street. It houses the main campus of National Taiwan Normal University (國立臺灣師範大學; hence the name of the neighborhood), making it an area with a high percentage of both Taiwanese and international students. Taipei Metro (also known as Taipei Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) and branded as Metro Taipei) is a rapid transit system operated by the Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation serving the capital Taipei and New Taipei City in Taiwan. The Shida Night Market () is a night market in Da'an District, Taipei, Taiwan. It is located near National Taiwan Normal University, whose name in Chinese is pronounced phonetically as Shida. Shida night market was a very popular night market given its unique shops, restaurants and fashionable clothing stores. However, as the area Shida night market occupied is close to National Taiwan Normal University, it has always been a place that many intellectuals called home.
