Shelbyville is an Unincorporated area, unincorporated community and census-designated place in Shelby County, Texas, Shelby County, Texas, United States. It is located seven miles southeast of Center, Texas, Center on Texas State Highway 87, State Highway 87 and is close to Toledo Bend reservoir. The Shelbyville Independent School District serves area students. Historical development The town was founded in the 1820s with settlers from the Nashville, Tennessee, Nashville, Tennessee, region. Brenham ( ) is a city in east-central Texas, United States, and the county seat of Washington County, with a population of 17,369 according to the 2020 U.S. census.
