Sheikh Jassim Cup
The Sheikh Jassim Cup () is an annual men's super cup competition in Qatari football held between the winner of the Qatar Stars League and the Emir of Qatar Cup. History The inaugural Sheikh Jassim Cup was held in 1977. Prior to the 2014 Sheikh Jassim Cup, all 18 Qatari football clubs competed in the cup. Under this format, the teams were divided into four groups with the winners from each group qualifying for the semi-finals. The cup serves as the opening event to the Qatar's football season. Al Sadd SC are the most successful team in the competition's history, having won the trophy on 15 occasions. Al Sadd Sports Club () is a Qatari sports club based in the Al Sadd (Qatar), Al Sadd district of the capital city Doha. It is best known for its association football team, which competes in the top level of Qatari football, the Qatar Stars League. Locally, it is known primarily by the nickname ''"Al Zaeem"'', which translates to "The Leader". Muaither SC
Muaither SC () is a multi-sports club based in Muaither, Qatar. It is best known for its Association football, football department, which plays in the Qatari Second Division. History 1996–2013: Second division The club was founded in 1996 as "Al Shabab". It changed its name to "Al Muaither" in 2004 by decision of the Qatar Olympic Committee. They played exclusively in the Qatari Second Division until 2013. Their first promotion play-off was in the 1999–00 season against Al Shamal SC, Al Shamal, losing the match. This was the first promotion play-off to ever take place in Qatar. In 2004, Muaither became the first team in history from the second division to win the Sheikh Jassem Cup. Al Kharaitiyat Sport Club () is a Qatari sports club based in the town of Al Kharaitiyat, best known for its football team of the Qatari Second Division.
