Sheep In Space
''Sheep in Space'' is a video game written by Jeff Minter for the Commodore 64 and published in 1984 by Llamasoft. It is a horizontally scrolling shooter which borrows gameplay from '' Defender'' re-themed to involve sheep. The title screen features an arrangement of Bach's " Sheep May Safely Graze" by pianist James Lisney. Gameplay The player controls a small flying sheep and has the task of defending the planet by shooting down aliens, and preventing them from charging up their "planet buster" gun. Like Llamasoft's 1984 release ''Ancipital'', the game makes use of multiple gravitational fields - there is a landscape across the bottom of the screen as per a normal shoot 'em up, but also an inverted one across the top. If the player is in the centre of the screen, the projectiles the sheep fires fly straight. Sensible Software
Sensible Software was a British software company founded by Jon Hare and Chris Yates which was active from March 1986 to June 1999. It released seven number-one hit games and won numerous industry awards. The company used exaggeratedly small sprite (computer science), sprites as the player characters in many of their games, including ''Mega Lo Mania'', ''Sensible Soccer'', ''Cannon Fodder (video game), Cannon Fodder'' and ''Sensible Golf''. History 8-bit era Sensible Software was formed in Chelmsford, Essex in 1986 by two former school friends, Jon Hare and Chris Yates. They worked for nine months at LT Software in Basildon, and started Sensible Software in March 1986. James Lisney
James Lisney (born 6 May 1962) is a British concert pianist. He studied with Phyllis Sellick and John Barstow – and early success was achieved after he gained representation by the Young Concert Artists Trust. He has gained particular distinction for his collaborative work with Emma Kirkby, Alexander Baillie and Paul Barritt, and has appeared as soloist with many major orchestras. In the early 1980s he arranged the music for several of Jeff Minter's games for the Commodore 64, including '' Hover Bovver'', '' Revenge of the Mutant Camels'', and ''Sheep in Space''. Since 2000 he has pioneered two major initiatives: an innovative series of concerts at London's South Bank called ''Schubertreise'' - a concept that he has adapted to various other cyclic presentations in other European venues; and a record company called ''Woodhouse Editions'' to add to his previous discography on companies such as BIS, Olympia, Naxos, Carlton and Somm.
