Shannan McCarthy
Shannan McCarthy Gaudette (born May 19, 1970) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. Biography McCarthy played collegiate tennis at the University of Georgia from 1989 to 1992, along with identical twin sister Shawn. A Georgia local, she earned a total of seven All-American selections and set a university record 150 career singles wins. In 1992 she was runner-up to Lisa Raymond in the NCAA Championships. She was granted a wildcard into the women's singles draw at the 1992 US Open (tennis), 1992 US Open and was beaten in the first round by Sabine Hack. From 1992 she began touring professionally and was most successful in the doubles format. As a doubles player she was runner-up in three WTA Tour tournaments and was ranked a career high 60 in 1993. Nicole J. Arendt (born August 26, 1969) is an American retired professional tennis player. Arendt won sixteen doubles titles in her career. The left-hander reached her highest singles ranking on the WTA Tour on June 16, 1997, when she was ranked 49th in the world. Arendt reached her career-high doubles ranking of No. 3 in the world on August 25, 1997. Arendt was born in Somerville, New Jersey. She attended the Hun School of Princeton for her high school education. Larisa Savchenko-Neiland (, ; née Savchenko; also Larisa Neiland; born 21 July 1966) is a tennis coach and former professional player who represented the Soviet Union and Latvia. A former world No. 1 doubles player, Neiland won six Grand Slam titles: two in List of Grand Slam women's doubles champions, women's doubles and four in List of Grand Slam mixed doubles champions, mixed doubles. Conchita Martínez Bernat (born 16 April 1972) is a Spanish former professional tennis player and current coach. She was the first Spaniard to win the women's singles title at Wimbledon, doing so in 1994. Martínez also was the runner-up at the 1998 Australian Open and the 2000 French Open. Ginger Helgeson (born September 14, 1968) is an American former professional tennis player, who is considered to be perhaps the greatest player ever to come out of Minnesota. She reached her highest singles ranking on January 2, 1995, when she became the No. 29 in the world. In doubles, she reached No. 38 in the same year, on January 9. Tennis career Helgeson was born in St. Cloud, Minnesota, before moving to Edina after seventh grade. She was coached by her brother, Brace, throughout juniors and high school.
