Shahpour Zarnegar (; 25 March 1929 – 12 September 2022) was an Iranian épée, foil and sabre fencer. Shahpour Zarangar was born in 1929 in the city of Kermanshah and was a retired police officer, a former member of the academic faculty of Iran Police University and a former member and then coach and head coach of Iran's national fencing teams in the 1970s and 1980s. The Imperial State of Iran, officially known as the Imperial State of Persia until 1935, and commonly referred to as Pahlavi Iran, was the Iranian state under the rule of the Pahlavi dynasty. Fencing
Fencing is a combat sport that features sword fighting. It consists of three primary disciplines: Foil (fencing), foil, épée, and Sabre (fencing), sabre (also spelled ''saber''), each with its own blade and set of rules. The , officially the and commonly known as Tokyo 1964 (), were an international multi-sport event held from 10 to 24 October 1964 in Tokyo, Japan. Tokyo had been awarded the organization of the 1940 Summer Olympics, but this honor was subsequently passed to Helsinki due to Japan's invasion of China, before ultimately being cancelled due to World War II.
