Shabash (album)
''Shabash'' (russian: Шабаш) is a live album by Russian rock band Alisa. It was released on 25 April 1991. The album was recorded at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow on 28 October 1990. The concert was part of the ''Shabash'' Tour, which ran between 1989 and 1991. The album was dedicated to Alisa bandleader Konstantin Kinchev's friend Alexander Bashlachev, who had died three years before the album release, and the title is taken from the last syllable of his nickname and the first of his surname (Sasha Bashlachev). It is the first double live album in the history of Russian rock music. In 1996, Kinchev stated that ''Shabash'' was the band's best album. The songs performed at the concert were written between 1986 and 1990. Alisa (Russian Band)
Alisa (russian: Алиса) is a Russian hard rock band, which is considered one of the most influential bands in the Russian rock movement. Biography Alisa was formed in November 1983 by bassist Svyatoslav Zadery. The band's name originated from Zadery's nickname. The band's lineup was finally completed in 1984, when new vocalist Kostya Kinchev (real name Konstantin Panfilov) and guitarist Petr Samoylov joined. Their debut album ''Energia'' was recorded between 1985 and 1986. ''Energia'' was released by the state publishing monopoly Melodiya in 1988 and sold more than a million copies. The relations between Alisa's two leaders, Kinchev and Zadery, deteriorated, and Zadery left the band. This occurred just one hour before Alisa was to perform at a concert. Khorovod
The khorovod or horovod ( rus, хорово́д, p=xərɐˈvot, uk, хоровод, translit=khorovod or uk, коло, translit=kolo, label=none, be, карагод , bg, хоро, pl, korowód) is an East Slavic and pagan art form and one of the oldest dances of Russia with its more than 1,000 years history. It is a combination of a circle dance and chorus singing, similar to the choreia of ancient Greece. The dance was also known in Rus' as ''karagod'', ''tanok'' and ''krug''. Etymology The term ''khorovod'' probably descended from the Greek ''Choreia'' (Ancient Greek: χορεία). Greek culture had a strong impact on Rus' culture. The Siberian crane (''Leucogeranus leucogeranus''), also known as the Siberian white crane or the snow crane, is a bird of the family Gruidae, the cranes. They are distinctive among the cranes: adults are nearly all snowy white, except for their black primary feathers that are visible in flight, and with two breeding populations in the Arctic tundra of western and eastern Russia. The eastern populations migrate during winter to China, while the western population winters in Iran and (formerly) in Bharatpur, India. Among the cranes, they make the longest distance migrations. Their populations, particularly those in the western range, have declined drastically in the 20th century due to hunting along their migration routes and habitat degradation.
