Seán Brady (cardinal)
Seán Brady KGCHS (born 16 August 1939) is an Irish prelate who is a Cardinal of the Catholic Church. He was Roman Catholic Archbishop of Armagh and Roman Catholic Primate of All Ireland from 1996 until 2014. He was elevated to the rank of cardinal by Pope Benedict XVI in the consistory on 24 November 2007. He left office in 2014 and was succeeded by Eamon Martin, who had served as Coadjutor Archbishop of Armagh since 2013. Early life and education Seán Brady was born in Drumcalpin, near Laragh, County Cavan, to Andrew (d. 1968) and Annie (d. 1990) Brady. One of three children, he has a brother, Con, and a sister, Kitty. He attended Caulfield National School in Laragh and St Patrick's College in Cavan. Sean Thomas Brady (born November 23, 1992) is an American professional mixed martial artist who currently competes in the Welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Seán Ó Brádaigh (; born 1937), sometimes anglicised as Sean Brady, is an Irish republican activist. Like his brother, Ruairí, Seán joined Sinn Féin at an early age. From 1958 to 1960, he edited the party newspaper, the '' United Irishman'', and then became the party's Director of Publicity. During the 1960s, he worked with Roy Johnston to develop the Éire Nua policy. Like his brother, Seán sided with the provisional wing in the split of 1970. He became the first editor of the party's new newspaper, ''An Phoblacht'', holding the post for two years, and also continued in his role as Director of Publicity. In 1972, he was arrested while in the Republic of Ireland, and charged with membership of the Irish Republican Army. Seán Brady (Gaelic Footballer)
Seán Brady (born 2003) is an Irish Gaelic footballer. At club level, he plays with Ballygarvan and at inter-county level with the Cork senior football team. Career Brady played Gaelic football and hurling at all grades as a student at St Francis College in Rochestown. He progressed through the various competitions and won an All-Ireland PPS SBHC title in 2022 after a 0-17 to 0-09 win over Coláiste Bhaile Chláir in the final. Brady later lined out with MTU Cork in the Sigerson Cup. At club level, Brady first played for Ballygarvan as a dual player at juvenile and underage levels, before progressing to adult level.
