''Seventeen Seconds'' is the second studio album by English rock band the Cure, released on 18 April 1980 by Fiction Records. The album marked the first time frontman Robert Smith co-produced with Mike Hedges. After the departure of original bassist Michael Dempsey, Simon Gallup became an official member along with keyboardist Matthieu Hartley. The single "A Forest" was the band's first entry in the top 40 of the UK Singles Chart. The Cure
The Cure are an English Rock music, rock band formed in Crawley in 1976 by Robert Smith (musician), Robert Smith (vocals, guitar) and Lol Tolhurst (drums). ''Isle of Wight'' is a posthumous live album by Jimi Hendrix, released in November 1971 by Polydor in the UK and Europe. It documents some of Hendrix's performance at the Isle of Wight Festival on August 31, 1970, his last official performance in England before his death less than three weeks later on September 18, 1970. ''Five Leaves Left'' is the debut studio album by English folk musician Nick Drake. Recorded between 1968 and 1969, it was released in 1969 by Island Records. Background and recording ''Five Leaves Left'' was recorded between May 1968 and April 1969 at Sound Techniques in London, England. Engineer John Wood recalled that "rakewould track live, singing and playing along with the string section" without the use of any overdubbing. For the song " River Man", producer Joe Boyd described Drake playing on a stool in the centre of the studio while surrounded by a semi-circle of instruments. Nick Drake
Nicholas Rodney Drake (19 June 1948 – 25 November 1974) was an English singer-songwriter and musician. An accomplished acoustic guitarist, Drake signed to Island Records at the age of twenty while still a student at the University of Cambridge. His debut album, ''Five Leaves Left'', was released in 1969, and was followed by two more albums, '' Bryter Layter'' (1971) and '' Pink Moon'' (1972). While Drake did not reach a wide audience during his brief lifetime, his music found critical acclaim and he gradually received wider recognition following his death. Drake suffered from depression and was reluctant to perform in front of live audiences.
