Settle College (formerly Settle High School and Settle Girls' High School) is an 11–18 mixed, community secondary school and sixth form in Giggleswick, Settle, North Yorkshire, England. It was established in 1907. It is a partner in 'The Three Peaks Family of Schools', a grouping of primary, middle and secondary schools in North Craven. History Settle College links back to Settle Girls' High School, founded in 1907, which became the comprehensive Settle High School in 1959. It changed its name to Settle College in 2004 when the school gained Technology College status. Giggleswick
Giggleswick, a village and civil parish in the Craven district of North Yorkshire, England, lies on the B6480 road, less than north-west of the town of Settle and divided from it by the River Ribble. It is the site of Giggleswick School. The village belonged to the West Riding of Yorkshire until 1974. Etymology ''A Dictionary of British Place Names'' contains the entry: :Giggleswick N. Yorks. Anna Adams (9 March 1926 – 2 October 2011) was an English poet and artist. Biography Anna Adams was born Anna Theresa Butt on 9 March 1926, at Richmond, Surrey. When she was two years old, her family relocated to Northwood, a town fifteen miles northwest of London. She was the youngest of three children. Her father was a journalist. During the First World War he had been a conscientious objector. Emma Lonsdale (born 24 April 1984) is a freestyle skier who competes in the halfpipe. Her Olympics debut was at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, competing for Team GB.
