Sesamstraße
(, Sesame Street in English) is a German children's television series that airs primarily in Germany and the surrounding German-speaking countries. It is a spin-off of the first preschool programme ''Sesame Street''. The show has been running on Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) since 1973, premiering on 8 January in that year. is also shown on the children's channel, KiKa. It is made for children between the ages of three and seven. History The Dubbed Era: 1973-onwards After a short test run of a few original, undubbed ''Sesame Street'' episodes, from August 1972 onward, the German version of the show premiered on 8 January 1973. The first three seasons, or 250 episodes of consisted of the original American episodes dubbed into German in Hamburg. Initially, only the opening and closing songs and sequences were changed, with new lyrics written by Volker Ludwig and tunes by Ingfried Hoffmann. Ernie acts the role of the naïve and exuberant troublemaker, while Bert is the world-weary foil. Oscar The Grouch
Oscar the Grouch is a List of Sesame Street Muppets, Muppet character created by Jim Henson and Jon Stone for the PBS/HBO children's television program ''Sesame Street''. He has a green body, no visible nose, and lives in a Sesame Street (fictional location)#Oscar's trash can, trash can. Oscar's favorite thing is Municipal solid waste, trash, as evidenced by the song "I Love Trash", with a running theme being his collection of seemingly useless items. Although the term "grouch" aptly describes Oscar's misanthropy, misanthropic interaction with the other characters, it also refers to his species. ''Das feuerrote Spielmobil'' was a German television children's television series, broadcast from April 21, 1972, to July 12, 1981. A total of 184 episodes of the series produced by Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) were broadcast in the afternoon program of ARD. The concept of the series was developed and produced from 1969 as a successor of the children's series "''Spielschule''" and shot in Munich, because the BR managers considered, that the social situation in Germany was not correctly represented by ''Sesamstraße'' and therefore needed a replacement program. Ingfried Hoffmann (born January 30, 1935) is a German jazz organist, pianist, trumpeter, arranger and composer. He has recorded for Columbia, Philips, Polydor, and Verve. He has composed music for German television, including music for the German version of ''Sesame Street'' and '' Robbi, Tobbi und das Fliewatüüt''. His album ''From Twen with Love'' (1966) was re-released as ''Hammond Bond'' in 2007. Kevin Clash
Kevin Jeffrey Clash (born September 17, 1960) is an American puppeteer, director and producer best known for puppeteering Elmo on ''Sesame Street'' from 1985 to 2012. He also performed puppets for ''Labyrinth'', ''Dinosaurs'', '' Oobi'', and various Muppet productions. Clash developed an interest in puppetry at an early age and, in his teen years, performed for local television children's shows in his hometown of Baltimore, Maryland.
