Sergio Canales Madrazo (; born 16 February 1991) is a Spanish professional Association football, footballer who plays as an Midfielder#Attacking midfielder, attacking midfielder for Liga MX club C.F. Monterrey, Monterrey. After starting out at Racing de Santander, he signed as a 19-year-old with Real Madrid CF, Real Madrid for €4.5 million, but failed to reproduce his form at the latter club and left after only one season. He went on to represent, always in La Liga, Valencia CF, Valencia, Real Sociedad and Real Betis, Betis, totalling 384 games and 49 goals across 15 seasons and winning the Copa del Rey once with Real Madrid and Betis. The UEFA Nations League is an international European football competition played by the senior men's national teams of the member associations of UEFA, the sport's European governing body. The competition was devised to minimise friendlies and give nations competitive encounters with equally ranked teams. Teams from all the European associations compete in a league structure featuring promotion and relegation. The first tournament began in September 2018, with the four group winners from League A qualifying for the first finals, played in Portugal in June 2019. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football.
