The Senate of the Republic of Kenya (Swahili language, swahili: ''Seneti ya Jamhuri ya Kenya)'' is one of the two Houses of the Parliament of Kenya, along with the National Assembly of Kenya, National Assembly. The Senate was first established as part of Kenya's Constitution of Kenya (1963), 1963 Constitution. After being abolished in 1966, the Senate was re-established by Article 93 of the new Constitution of Kenya, 2010 Constitution to represent Counties of Kenya, counties' interests as well as pass legislation concerning counties. 2022 Kenyan General Election
General elections were held in Kenya on Tuesday, 9 August 2022. Voters elected the President of Kenya, president, governors, Senate of Kenya, senators, members of the National Assembly (Kenya), National Assembly, and members of county assemblies. This was the third general election and the fourth presidential one since the promulgation of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 constitution. Kwale District
Kwale District was an administrative district in the Coast Province of Kenya. Its capital town was Kwale, although Msambweni and Ukunda are larger. The district was created by the colonial government, making it one of the original districts of Kenya. The district had a population of 496,133. Kwale is mainly an inland district, but it has coastline south of Mombasa. Diani Beach is part of the Msambweni division. Shimba Hills National Reserve and Mwaluganje elephant sanctuary are other attractions in the district. Mombasa District
Mombasa District was one of the districts of Kenya. Its capital and the only town was Mombasa. By 2009, Kenya was divided into eight provinces, which are subdivided into 71 districts. In Coast Province there are seven districts, Mombasa District being one of them. It is situated in the southeast of Coast Province. It is the smallest in size covering an area of 294.6 km2 including 65 km2 of inshore waters. The district lies between latitudes 3°56’ and 4°10’ south of the equator and longitudes 39°34’ and 39°46’ east. The House of Representatives was the lower house of the National Assembly of Kenya, under the Constitution of 1963, the upper house being the Senate Elected between 18 and 26 May 1963, it consisted of 129 directly elected Members of Parliament, with its presiding officer being the Speaker, Sir Humphrey Slade. The leader of the largest party, the Kenyan African National Union, Jomo Kenyatta, became the Prime Minister, appointed by the Governor-General.
