Semachrysa Claggi
''Semachrysa'' is a genus of green lacewing found from Japan to Australia along the Western part of the Pacific Ocean. 20 ''Semachrysa'' species have been described between 1914 and 2012. 15 of them - one of which was new - have been included in a recent taxonomic study: *''Semachrysa claggi'' (Banks, 1937) *''Semachrysa contorta'' Brooks, 1983 *''Semachrysa cruciata'' (Esben-Petersen, 1928) *''Semachrysa dammermanni'' (Esben-Petersen, 1929) *''Semachrysa decorata'' (Esben-Petersen, 1913) *''Semachrysa hyndi'' Brooks, 1983 *''Semachrysa jade'' Winterton & Guek & Brooks, 2012 *''Semachrysa matsumurae'' (Okamoto, 1914) *''Semachrysa minuta'' Brooks, 1983 *''Semachrysa nigribasis'' (Banks, 1920) *''Semachrysa papuensis'' Brooks, 1983 *''Semachrysa picilabris'' (Kimmins, 1952) *''Semachrysa polysticta'' Brooks, 1983 *''Semachrysa sagitta'' Brooks, 1983 *''Semachrysa wallacei'' Brooks, 1983 Further members include: *''Semachrysa guangxiensis'' Yang & Yang, 1991 *''Semachrysa phanera'' ...

Semachrysa Jade
''Semachrysa jade'' is a species of green lacewing from the Malaysian states of Perak, Selangor and Sabah. So far, very few specimens have been found, all female. They exhibit extensive black markings on the basal portion of both wings, which differentiates them from the 14 other species in the genus ''Semachrysa''. The species was discovered when a Malaysian amateur photographer, Hock Ping Guek, posted a picture of it to the online photo-sharing site Flickr. A California state entomology, entomologist saw it and was unable to identify the species; nor were any colleagues he shared the image with. Eventually, he contacted the photographer and was able to obtain a specimen. Further testing at the Natural History Museum, London, Natural History Museum in London confirmed that it was indeed a new species. Its discovery has been described as a triumph of citizen science. The species was listed among the ''Top 10 New Species 2013'' discovered in 2012 as selected by the International I ...

Neuroptera Genera
The insect order (biology), order Neuroptera, or net-winged insects, includes the lacewings, mantidflies, antlions, and their relatives. The order consists of some 6,000 species. Neuroptera is grouped together with the Megaloptera (alderflies, fishflies, and dobsonflies) and Raphidioptera (snakeflies) in the unranked taxon Neuropterida (once known as Planipennia). Adult neuropterans have four membranous wings, all about the same size, with many wing vein, veins. They have chewing mouthparts, and undergo complete metamorphosis. Neuropterans first appeared during the Permian Period (geology), period, and continued to diversify through the Mesozoic era. During this time, several unusually large forms evolved, especially in the extinct Family (biology), family Kalligrammatidae, often called "the butterflies of the Jurassic" for their large, patterned wings. Anatomy and biology Neuropterans are soft-bodied insects with relatively few specialized features. They have large lateral co ...

Chrysopidae
Green lacewings are insects in the large family (biology), family Chrysopidae of the order (biology), order Neuroptera. There are about 85 genera and (differing between sources) 1,300–2,000 species in this widespread group. Members of the Genus, genera ''Chrysopa'' and ''Chrysoperla'' are very common in North America and Europe; they are very similar and many of their species have been moved from one genus to the other time and again, and in the nonscientific literature assignment to ''Chrysopa'' and ''Chrysoperla'' can rarely be relied upon. Since they are the most familiar neuropterans to many people, they are often simply called "lacewings". Since most of the diversity of Neuroptera are properly referred to as some sort of "lacewing", common lacewings is preferable. Description and ecology Green lacewings are delicate insects with a wingspan of 6 to over 65 mm, though the largest forms are tropical. They are characterized by a wide Costal vein, costal field in their w ...
