Selbjørn Bridge
Selbjørn is an island in Austevoll municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The island is the second largest in the municipality (after Huftarøy). Most of the population lives along the northern and eastern coastlines of the island. The commercial centre of Selbjørn is the village of Bekkjarvik, where Bekkjarvik Church is located. Name Selbjørn is based on the old Norwegian word ''Salbjǫrn'' meaning the bear in the saddle. The interpretation is that sailors and fishermen used Selbjørn as replacement for a more ancient "Hund" meaning quarry. However, "Hund" is the same as the Norwegian word for dog and "Hund" in the meaning of dog was according to old tradition something not to be mentioned at sea. The result being Salbjorn or Selbjørn as the new word for "Hund" (quarry). The island's name was used in naming the fjord that lies immediately to the south, Selbjørnsfjorden. Bekkjarvik
Bekkjarvik is a village in Austevoll municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The village is located on the northeastern coast of the island of Selbjørn. The village has a population (2019) of 577 and a population density of . The village is an old trading post, with an inn that has been in operation since the 17th century. There was also a barrel factory. Today, the inn is still in operation and most of the economy centers around the seasonal fishing industry. Stolmen
Stolmen is an island in Austevoll municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The island lies in a large archipelago just north of the Selbjørnsfjorden. The island of Selbjørn lies to the east, the islands of Huftarøy and Hundvåko lie to the northeast, and the islands of Stora Kalsøy, Litla Kalsøya, and Møkster lie to the north. The island had 206 inhabitants in 2007. The commercial centre of Stolmen is the village of Våge on the southern part of the island. Other villages on the island include Årland in the central part and Kvalvåg on the northern part. Møkster Church is located in the village of Kvalvåg. The Stolma Bridge connects the island of Stolmen to the neighboring island of Selbjørn. The highest point is the tall mountain Såta. Located in the Traditional districts of Norway, traditional district of Sunnhordland, the island is part of the municipalities of Stord (southern part) and Fitjar (northern part).
