Selahattin Ülkümen
Selahattin Ülkümen (14 January 1914 – 7 June 2003) was a Turkish diplomat who was recognized by Israel as one of the Righteous Among the Nations in 1989, with his name being listed at Yad Vashem in the city of Jerusalem. During World War II, he was serving as a consul-general of Turkey on the island of Rhodes, Greece, which had been invaded and occupied by Nazi Germany. Ülkümen assisted the island's Jews by personally intervening to prevent as many of them as possible from being deported by the Germans amidst the Holocaust. In total, he managed to save around 50 Jews—13 on the basis of their Turkish citizenship, and the remainder through his own initiatives. Jews in Axis-occupied Greece were deported from Corfu and sent to Nazi death camps, namely Auschwitz. Selahattin Taşdöğen (born 19 July 1951) is a Turkish actor. In 1986, he graduated from Marmara University School of Fine Arts. Since the beginning of his career, he has appeared in various plays, movies and TV series. He began his career on stage in 1969 by joining Keloğlan Children's Theatre. He then worked for Türkbank Children's Theatre. In 1974, Taşdöğen started his career in cinema and television. Selahattin Taşdöğen also works as a teacher. He has been teaching art, art history and tourism in various schools. Selahattin Paşalı (born 2 February 1990) is a Turkish actor. Early life and career Paşalı was born on 2 February 1990 in Bodrum. Selâhattin Kantar
Ömer Selahattin Kantar (1878 in İzmir, Ottoman Empire – 17 November 1949 in İzmir, Turkey) was a Turkish archaeologist, museum director, journalist and playwright. In 1927, he became the founding director of İzmir Archaeology Museum and he held this post until his death. Between 1932 and 1941, he was responsible for the first organized archaeological excavations at the site of the ancient city of Smyrna, a task he carried out jointly with the German archaeologist Rudolf Naumann. Opening up of a large part of Smyrna's Agora, location of İzmir Agora Open Air Museum today, is due to their work. Naumann and Kantar published the results of their findings for the first time in 1935, with a final version having appeared after Kantar's death in 1950.
