Seize (band)
Seize are a British electronic band. History The origins of Seize date back to 1997, when Sandrine Gouriou and Steven Young (both of whom later went on to join the British synth-pop band, Visage) collaborated to form the project Seize The Day, with the duo going on to produce their debut EP, ''Blades''. A year later, they changed the name to Seize. Following their debut gig in London in 2000, the pair went on to perform across the country. The duo's second single, "Victim", was released on 12" white label, featuring a club-oriented remix. 2001 saw Seize release their first album, ''Lunacy''. In order to expand the scope of their live performances, Seize recruited bass guitarist Rosie Harris in 2002, and by then the group were heading towards a more breakbeat and trance direction. Electronic Music
Electronic music broadly is a group of music genres that employ electronic musical instruments, circuitry-based music technology and software, or general-purpose electronics (such as personal computers) in its creation. Visage (band)
Visage were a British New wave music, new wave pop band formed in London in 1978. The band became closely linked to the burgeoning New Romanticism, New Romantic fashion movement of the early 1980s, and are best known for their hit "Fade to Grey (Visage song), Fade to Grey" which was released in late 1980. In the UK, the band achieved two Top 20 albums (''Visage (Visage album), Visage'' and ''The Anvil (album), The Anvil'') and five Top 30 singles before the commercial failure of their third album (''Beat Boy'') led to their breakup in 1985. The band saw various line-up changes over the years, all fronted by vocalist Steve Strange, who resurrected the band name in the 2000s. In 2013, the final line-up of the band released ''Hearts and Knives'', the first new Visage album in 29 years. An extended play (EP) is a Sound recording and reproduction, musical recording that contains more tracks than a Single (music), single but fewer than an album. Contemporary EPs generally contain up to eight tracks and have a playing time of 15 to 30 minutes. An EP is usually less cohesive than an album and more "non-committal". Wave-Gotik-Treffen
The (WGT; German for "Wave Gothic Meeting") is an annual world festival for "dark" music and "dark culture" in Leipzig, Germany. 150+ bands and artists from various backgrounds (gothic rock, Electronic body music, EBM, Industrial music, industrial, Noise (music), noise, darkwave, neo-folk, Neoclassical music, neo-classical and Medieval music, medieval music being examples) play at several venues throughout the city over four days on Pentecost, Whitsuntide. Apoptygma Berzerk (; commonly abbreviated to APB or APOP) is a Norwegian band that produces a style of electro rock, industrial rock, synth-pop and ballads backed with electronic rhythms, commonly known within the scene as "futurepop". Apoptygma Berzerk has won awards and top 10 spots in Germany and Scandinavia. Apoptygma Berzerk has toured Europe, North America, South America, Israel and Australia with bands such as VNV Nation, Beborn Beton, Icon of Coil and Unheilig. Front 242
Front 242 is a Belgian electronic music group that came into prominence during the 1980s. Pioneering the style they called electronic body music, they influenced the electronic and industrial music genres. History Formation Front 242 were formed in 1981 in Aarschot, near Leuven, Belgium, by Daniel Bressanutti and Dirk Bergen, who wanted to create music and graphic design using emerging electronic tools. Prior to forming Front 242, Bressanutti worked on a music project called "Prothese" that had already produced several one-off tracks. The ''front'' part of the name comes from the idea of an organized popular uprising and the fact that the word can be translated in many languages while retaining the same meaning.
