Mosque Of Segrate
The Mosque of Segrate (), also known as Masjid al-Rahmàn or Mosque of the Merciful, is a mosque in Segrate, Italy, located on the border to the Milano Due suburb. It was the first mosque with a dome and minaret to be built in Italy after the demolition of the last mosques in Lucera in 1300. The mosque opened on 28 May 1988, and it has been, ever since, Milan's most important mosque and the second-most important mosque in Italy after the Mosque of Rome. The mosque depends on the cultural association "Muslim Centre for Milan and Lombardy", which publishes one of the most important Muslim magazines in Italian, ''Il messaggero dell'Islam'' ("The Messenger of Islam"). Milan Suburban Railway Service
The Milan S Lines constitute the commuter rail system serving the metropolitan area of Milan, Italy. The system comprises 12 lines serving 124 stations, for a total length of 403 km. There are 415 trains per day with a daily ridership of about 230,000. The core of the system is the Passante, an underground railway running through the city approximately from the north-west to the south-east. Several lines share this track, making the service in the city centre comparable to a metro line or ''S-Bahn'' system. The service timetable is based on a clock-face scheduling. Milano 2 (also known as ''Milano Due'') is a residential centre in the Italian town of Segrate (Province of Milan). It was built as a new town by Edilnord, a company associated with Silvio Berlusconi in the 1970s. The main peculiarity of Milano 2 is its walkability: A system of walkways, cycle paths and bridges connects the whole neighbourhood so that it is possible to walk around without ever intersecting with vehicular traffic. It was marketed as a residential neighbourhood for families of the upper middle class with children. History Work started on the project in 1971 and was completed in 1979. Distinctive landmarks of the complex include the sporting facilities, a small artificial lake (''il laghetto''), children's and adults' playgrounds, and lots of green areas so you can also think of living inside a park. The Idroscalo is an artificial lake in Milan, Italy that was originally constructed as a seaplane airport. It opened on 28 October 1930, in the heyday of seaplanes. When the use of seaplanes for passenger transport declined it became a recreational and sport facility. The lake is long and was constructed in the late 1920s.
