Aishath Afreen
Aishath Afreen Mohamed (born 1984 or 1985) is a Maldivian public figure and former human rights worker, who is the spouse of the vice president of the Maldives since November 2024, as the wife of vice president Hussain Mohamed Latheef. Career On 11 August 2015, Afreen was approved by the People's Majlis to serve as a commissioner of Human Rights Commission of the Maldives for a 5–year term. She was then appointed to serve the post, by then–president Abdulla Yameen and was sworn in on 17 August. Along with other members, her oath of office were administered by chief justice Abdulla Saeed. Following the end of her term as commissioner, she resigned on 12 July 2020. Hussain Mohamed Latheef (; born 10 December 1982), commonly known as Sembe (), is a Maldivian politician who is the 13th and incumbent vice president of the Maldives since 2023. He was a member of the People's Majlis for Fares-Maathodaa from 2014 to 2023. He was elected vice president as the running mate of Mohamed Muizzu in the 2023 presidential election. He started his government career in 2004 as the former secretary at Hulhumalé Hospital. He served at the Ministry of Gender, Family, and Human Rights and the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives. Faisal Naseem (born 20 July 1973) is a Maldivian politician who served as vice president of the Maldives from 2018 to 2023. Raajje TV is a television channel based in the Maldives, known for its news coverage, entertainment programs, and cultural content.
