Álvaro Sebastián Sánchez Burgos (born 4 April 1989) is a Uruguayan former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Career Sánchez started his career in the ranks of local club Tacuarembó. He began featuring for them in the 2008–09 Primera División season, which he ended with his first senior goal after netting against Villa Española on 8 February 2009. Tacuarembó were relegated two seasons later in 2010–11, with Sánchez subsequently scoring seven goals across three campaigns in the Segunda División which culminated with promotion back to the top tier as 2013–14 champions. Sánchez left the club midway through 2014–15. Tacuarembó ( Guaraní language, Guarani: ''Takuarembo'', literally: "Bamboo shoot") is the capital city of the Tacuarembó Department in north-central Uruguay. History On 24 October 1831, a presidential decree by Fructuoso Rivera ordered the creation of a city in the region. The task was entrusted to the President's brother, Colonel Bernabé Rivera. Colonel Rivera left Montevideo on a three-month journey with a caravan of wagons and families, towards the shore of the Tacuaremboty River, which in the Guaraní language means "river of the reeds". The area was surveyed and divided into blocks for settlement. On January 21, 1832, Coronel Rivera founded the town under the name "San Fructuoso", after Fructuosus, Saint Fructuosus of Tarragona (whose Calendar of saints, Saint's Day is January 21) and after his (Benjamin's) brother. The 2009–10 Liga Profesional de Primera División season, also known as the 2009–10 Copa Uruguaya or the 2009–10 Campeonato Uruguayo, was the 106th season of Uruguay's top-flight football league, and the 79th in which it was professional. The season was named in honor of Héctor del Campo, ex-president of Danubio. Format The season was divided into two tournaments: the Apertura and the Clausura. In each tournament, the teams played against each other in a single round-robin format. Whoever plays at home against an opponent in the Apertura played the same opponent as a visitor in the Clausura.
