Sebastian Vlădescu
Sebastian Teodor Gheorghe Vlădescu (born 3 April 1958) is a Romanian economist and politician. A former member of the National Liberal Party (PNL), he was the Minister of Public Finance of Romania in the first Călin Popescu-Tăriceanu cabinet (between 22 August 2005 and 4 April 2007) and starting from 23 December 2009 in the Emil Boc cabinet. Biography Education Sebastian Vlădescu was born on 3 April 1958. Vlădescu graduated in 1983 from the Commerce Faculty of the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest and then, the postgraduation studies in Capital Markets, Direct Investments, organized by Merrill Lynch (1997). Radu Vasile
Radu Vasile (; 10 October 1942 – 3 July 2013) was a Romanian politician, historian, academic/professor, and poet. Originally a member of the Christian Democratic National Peasants' Party (PNȚ-CD), Vasile served as the Prime Minister of Romania between 17 April 1998 and 13 December 1999, and was notably confronted with the last Mineriad (more specifically the February 1999 Mineriad). Subsequently, between 2000 and 2004, he was elected as a Senator on behalf the Democratic Party (PD). In addition to his political career, Vasile published poetry under the pen name ''Radu Mischiu''. Traian Băsescu (; born 4 November 1951) is a Romanian politician who served as the president of Romania from 2004 to 2014. Prior to his presidency, Băsescu served as Romanian minister of transport on multiple occasions between 1991 and 2000, and as Mayor of Bucharest from 2000 to 2004. Additionally, he was elected as leader of the Democratic Party (PD) in 2001. During his term as leader of the PD, the party formed the Justice and Truth Alliance (DA) with the National Liberal Party (PNL). Following Theodor Stolojan's withdrawal from the presidential elections in 2004, Băsescu entered the presidential race on behalf of the alliance.
