''Screamadelica Live'' is a live album by Scottish rock group Primal Scream, which was released in 2011 for Primal Scream's tour for the 20th anniversary for the 1991 album ''Screamadelica''. The performance was filmed at the Olympia Grand Hall in London on 26 November 2010 and was released on CD, DVD and Blu-ray on 30 May 2011. This is the final Primal Scream album to feature Mani, who departed and reformed his previous band The Stone Roses in the same year. Primal Scream
Primal Scream are a Scottish rock music, rock band originally formed in 1982 in Glasgow by Bobby Gillespie (vocals) and Jim Beattie (musician), Jim Beattie (guitar). The band's current lineup consists of Gillespie, Andrew Innes (guitar), Simone Butler (bass), and Darrin Mooney (drums). Primal Scream had been performing live from 1982 to 1984, but their career did not take off until Gillespie left his position as drummer of The Jesus and Mary Chain. The band were a key part of the mid-1980s indie pop scene, but eventually moved away from their jangly sound, taking on more psychedelic music, psychedelic and garage rock influences, before incorporating a dance music element to their sound with their 1991 album ''Screamadelica'', which broke them into the mainstream. Gary Mounfield
Gary "Mani" Mounfield (born 16 November 1962)Warshaw, AaronMani allmusic.com is an English rock bassist, best known for being a member of the Stone Roses and Primal Scream. Career Mounfield attended Xaverian College in Rusholme, Manchester. He developed an interest in darts, a sport he went on to champion throughout his career. He left school aged sixteen in 1979 and joined the band the Stone Roses (part of the " Madchester" music scene) in 1987. Playing on both of the band's albums, Mounfield was in the Stone Roses until they disbanded in 1996. Mounfield used a Rickenbacker 4005 Jackson Pollock-influenced paint-splattered bass guitar in the period after the Stone Roses debut album. He joined Primal Scream after Stone Roses disbanded. Darrin Mooney
Darrin Shane Mooney (born 26 April 1967) is an English musician and session drummer, best known for his work with Primal Scream and Gary Moore. Mooney started playing at the age of 12 at school. Mooney attended Raynes Park High School. Throughout his school years, he played in various school bands and orchestras, playing both drums and percussion. At the age of 18, Mooney went along to a NYJO (National Youth Jazz Orchestra) rehearsal in London and was inspired as he watched the others play. In 1997 he joined Primal Scream and worked with Gary Moore from 2001. He has also played with China Black, Matt Bianco, Ragga Twins, Bonnie Tyler, Martin Barre and others. Martin Duffy (musician)
Martin Bernard Duffy (18 May 1967 – 18 December 2022) was an English musician who played keyboards with Felt and Primal Scream. Career Duffy was born in Birmingham and grew up in Rednal in the south of the city, attending St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School in King's Norton, and growing up listening to punk rock, as well as two-tone, the Beatles and Led Zeppelin. Duffy joined the indie rock band Felt as keyboard player in 1985. Felt frontman Lawrence later recalled "I put up notices in Virgin in Birmingham advertising for a guitarist saying 'Do You Want To Be A Rock 'N' Roll Star?' I'd put two up when this guy came up to me and said, 'I know this keyboard player. He's 16. He's just left school." Duffy played keyboards on Primal Scream's first two albums, and joined the band permanently after Felt disbanded at the end of 1989. Barrie Cadogan
Barrie Cadogan (born January 1975) is an English guitarist, known for his association with Morrissey, Paul Weller, Edwyn Collins, Liam Gallagher, Primal Scream, and The The, and also for being the founder of Little Barrie. He also played guitar on the intro to the TV series ''Better Call Saul''. Career Cadogan started Little Barrie in 2000 together with Wayne Fulwood on drums and Lewis Wharton on bass. The trio released their debut album '' We Are Little Barrie'' in 2005. The album featured guest appearances from Edwyn Collins. Before the release of the album he played with Morrissey on his 2004 tour, replacing Alain Whyte after being recommended by his friend and fellow guitarist Boz Boorer. In 2006, Cadogan started performing live with Primal Scream as co-guitarist following the departure of founding member Robert Young. Andrew Innes
Andrew Colin Innes (born 16 May 1962) is a Scottish musician, best known for being the guitarist in Scottish rock band Primal Scream. Biography Early years While in high school in 1978, Innes was the guitarist for a Glasgow punk band called The Drains. He met Alan McGee and Bobby Gillespie when they had joined the band. After the band's demise, Innes along with McGee briefly joined the band H2O then relocated to London where they formed The Laughing Apple, a band of which recorded three singles in 1981 and 1982, two of which were released on Autonomy, and the third was put out on their own Essential record label. Revolving Paint Dream As Alan McGee went on to form Creation Records and the band, Biff Bang Pow!, Innes formed Revolving Paint Dream with his then-girlfriend Christine Wanless in 1983. Bobby Gillespie
Robert Gillespie ( ; born 22 June 1961) is a Scottish musician, singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. He is the lead singer, founding member, primary lyricist, and sole continuous member of the alternative rock band Primal Scream. He was the drummer for The Jesus and Mary Chain in the mid-1980s, leaving after the release of the band's debut album '' Psychocandy'', and was once the bassist for The Wake. Swastika Eyes
"Swastika Eyes" (stylised as "SWSTK YS" and also known as "War Pigs") is a song by Scottish rock band Primal Scream, released on 8 November 1999 as the lead single from their sixth studio album '' XTRMNTR'' (2000). The attention-grabbing title is an example of the band's confrontational style in this period, although they have stated that the song is an attack on corporations and governments. The song peaked at number 22 on the UK Singles Chart. The "Swastika Eyes" single has two mixes of the song by the Chemical Brothers and Jagz Kooner respectively. The Stone Roses
The Stone Roses were an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1983. They were one of the pioneering groups of the Madchester movement in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
