Saudi-Egyptian Super Cup
The Saudi-Egyptian Super Cup is an occasional competition organised by the Saudi and Egyptian football federations, between the league and cup champions from each federation. The cup winners from each federation participated in the President el-Sisi's Cup Winners' Super Cup, and the league winners in the King Salman's League Winners' Super Cup, and in 2022, the Lusail Super Cup. The initial competition took place only in three seasons: the first in 2001, the second in 2003, and the last in 2018. The renamed Lusail Super Cup took place in 2022 in order to showcase the Lusail Stadium, the site of the FIFA World Cup final later that year. This cup is considered a friendly tournament and is typically not taken into consideration when counting the clubs' official trophies. Lusail Stadium
Lusail Stadium (, ) is a Stadium, football stadium in Lusail, Qatar. Owned by the Qatar Football Association, it is the largest stadium in Qatar and the Middle East by capacity; one of eight stadiums built for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, it hosted the 2022 FIFA World Cup final game between Argentina national football team, Argentina and France national football team, France on 18 December 2022. It is currently the List of stadiums by capacity, second largest football stadium in Asia but eventually will reduce its current capacity of 88,966 to 40,000 in the near future. In association football, a penalty shoot-out (previously known as kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a tie (draw), draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as Overtime (sports)#Association football, extra time (if used) has expired. For example, in a FIFA World Cup, penalties are used in elimination matches; the round of 32, the round of 16, the quarter-finals, the semi-finals, and the final (competition), final. The Egyptian Super Cup is Football in Egypt, Egyptian football's annual match contested between the champions of the Egyptian Premier League season and the holders of the Egypt Cup. If the Egyptian Premier League champions also won the Egypt Cup then the cup runners-up provide the opposition. The competition was founded in 2001, the first team to win the trophy was Zamalek SC. The Egyptian Premier League (), also known as the Nile League () for sponsorship reasons, after the addition of title sponsor Nile Developments, is a professional association football league in Egypt and the highest level of the Egyptian football league system. The league comprises 18 teams and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Egyptian Second Division A. Seasons mostly run from August to May. Lusail Super Cup
Lusail (, , ) is the second-largest city in Qatar after Doha, and the economic capital of Qatar, located on the coast, in the southern part of the municipality of Al Daayen. Lusail lies about north of the Doha city centre, just north of the West Bay Lagoon, on over and will eventually have the infrastructure to accommodate 450,000 people.
