Saturday Night Slammasters
''Saturday Night Slam Masters'', known in Japan as is a 1993 pro wrestling fighting game developed and published by Capcom for arcades. The game features character designs by manga artist Tetsuo Hara, famous for ''Fist of the North Star''. The game was followed by an updated version titled ''Muscle Bomber Duo: Ultimate Team Battle'' in 1993, and a sequel called ''Ring of Destruction: Slam Masters II'' in 1994. Gameplay The original ''Slam Masters'' plays like a traditional wrestling game, only the game used a view similar to that commonly used in the fighting game genre. The game uses a three button configuration (grab, attack, and jump). Each character has two special attacks: a non-grappling technique and a finisher. When an opponent's life meter is depleted, he must either be pinned for a three-count or forced to submit. Tetsuo Hara
is a Japanese manga artist. He is best known for co-creating the post-apocalyptic martial arts series ''Fist of the North Star'' (1983–1988) with writer Buronson, which is one of the best-selling manga in history with over 100 million copies in circulation. Early life Although born in Tokyo, Hara lived in Matsubara- danchi in Sōka, Saitama. He is a cousin of comedian Ryo Fukawa. Hara began drawing characters from Osamu Tezuka's ''Astro Boy'' and '' Jungle Emperor Leo'', as well as Ikki Kajiwara and Naoki Tsuji's '' Tiger Mask'' in first and second grade. In third and fourth grade he was obsessed with Shotaro Ishinomori's ''Kamen Rider'' manga, while the work of Fujio Akatsuka showed him how diverse the medium could be. Mike Haggar
, also known mononymously as Haggar, is a character in the ''Street Fighter'' shared universe, mainly playable in the ''Final Fight'' and '' Saturday Night Slam Masters'' series of video games. Haggar first appeared in the 1989 Capcom arcade game ''Final Fight'' and re-appeared in various other video game appearances. He was created by Akira "Akiman" Yasuda, introduced due to the need for a "big guy" in ''Final Fight''. Inspiration was taken from various sources, such as ''Les Misérables'', '' Mad Bull 34'', and '' Streets of Fire''. ''Lucha libre'' (, meaning "freestyle wrestling" or literally translated as "free fight") is the term for the style of professional wrestling originating in Mexico. Since its introduction to Mexico in the early 20th century, it has developed into a unique form of the genre, characterized by colorful wrestling mask, masks, rapid sequences of holds and maneuvers, and professional wrestling aerial techniques, "high-flying" aerial techniques, some of which have been adopted by wrestlers in the United States, Japan, and elsewhere.
