Satoshi Mitazono
is a Japanese politician and journalist who is the former governor of Kagoshima Prefecture. He defeated the incumbent Yūichirō Itō at an election held on 10 July 2016. Early life and education Mitazono was born in Ibusuki, Kagoshima in 1958. In 1980 he graduated from Waseda University with a bachelor's degree in education and was employed by TV Asahi as a political journalist. Pre-politics career During his career with TV Asahi, Mitazono was responsible for reporting on national politics. From 1990 he was the political reporter for ''News Station'', Asahi's daily night-time news program. In 2004 he was employed as a part-time lecturer at Waseda University's Graduate School of Public Management. 2021 Japanese General Election
General elections were held in Japan on 31 October 2021, as required by the constitution. Voting took place in all constituencies in order to elect members to the House of Representatives, the lower house of the National Diet. As the constitution requires the cabinet to resign in the first Diet session after a general election, the elections will also lead to a new election for Prime Minister in the Diet, and the appointment of a new cabinet, although ministers may be re-appointed. Satsumasendai, Kagoshima
is a city located in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. The modern city of Satsumasendai was established on October 12, 2004, from the merger of the city of Sendai, the towns of Hiwaki, Iriki, Kedōin and Tōgō, and the Koshikijima Islands (which consisted of the villages of Kamikoshiki, Kashima, Sato and Shimokoshiki, all from Satsuma District). The is a nuclear power plant located in the city of Satsumasendai in Kagoshima Prefecture. The two 846 MW net reactors are owned and operated by the Kyūshū Electric Power Company.
