Satoru Nomura
is a Japanese former Yakuza from Fukuoka Prefecture. He is the fifth president of the yakuza group Kudo-kai. Early life Nomura was born in 1946 as the sixth and youngest child in a rich peasant family. As a teenager, he was addicted to gambling and dedicated his fortunes to this habit and became a delinquent. He was often sent into a juvenile home for various crimes, including stealing a car. Nomura did not graduate from secondary school. It was only in his 20s when he joined Kudo-kai, a Yakuza gang. During his years in the underworld, Nomura was involved in crimes such as real estate fraud and illegal gambling dens, which earned him huge revenues. He also rose through the ranks to later become a Yakuza leader. At the peak of his criminal career in 2008, he had over 1,200 members under his wing, although by 2020 that number had fallen to around 400. is an ancient Jōkamachi, castle town and the center of modern Kitakyushu, Japan. Kudo-kai
The is a yakuza group headquartered in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka on the Kyushu island of Japan, with an estimated 200 active members. The Kudo-kai has been a purely independent syndicate ever since its foundation, and has caused numerous conflicts with the Yamaguchi-gumi (at least on eight separate occasions in 2000; at least one Yamaguchi-affiliate boss was shot to death by the Kudo-kai in 2000). The Kudo-kai is the largest yakuza group in the Kitakyushu area, and like other yakuza groups based in the northern Kyushu region, it is noted for its extremely militant stance, by using the likes of machine guns and hand grenades in their activities. Capital punishment is a legal penalty in Japan. The Penal Code of Japan and several laws list 14 capital crimes. In practice, though, it is applied only for Murder in Japanese law#Aggravated murder, aggravated murder. Executions are carried out by Hanging#Long drop, long drop hanging, and take place at one of the seven execution chambers located in major cities across the country. The only crime punishable by a mandatory death sentence is instigation of foreign aggression. Death sentences are usually passed in cases of multiple murders, although there have been some extremely grave cases where individuals who committed a single murder have been sentenced to death and executed, such as those involving torture, extreme brutality or kidnapping with a demand for ransom.
