Sarah Jane Buckley
Sarah Jane Buckley (born 2 January 1968) is an actress and singer. She is also an ambassador for The Prince's Trust. She played Kathy Barnes in ''Hollyoaks'' from November 2005 to January 2008 and again in April 2017 and September 2017. After leaving the show, Buckley performed in a number of stage productions including ''Songbird'', a concert about the life of Eva Cassidy. The Prince's Trust
The King's Trust (formerly the Prince's Trust) is a United Kingdom-based charity founded in 1976 by Charles III, King Charles III (then Prince of Wales) to help vulnerable young people get their lives on track. It supports 11-to-30-year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school and at risk of exclusion. Many of the young people helped by the trust face issues such as homelessness, disability, mental health problems, or trouble with the law. It runs a range of training programmes, providing practical and financial support to build young people's confidence and motivation. Kathy Barnes
Kathy Barnes is a fictional character from the British Channel 4 soap opera ''Hollyoaks'', played by Sarah Jane Buckley. Kathy arrived in October 2005. In October 2007, it was announced that Kathy had been written out of the serial and would leave in January 2008. She returned briefly on 24 April 2017 for the funeral of her daughter Amy Barnes ( Ashley Slanina-Davies) and departed the following day on 25 April 2017. Kathy returned on 4 September 2017 for Ste Hay's (Kieron Richardson) week-long trial. After being found not guilty on 8 September 2017, Ste was shot by Kathy, following which Kathy is taken into police custody and makes a permanent exit. Character creation Actress Sarah Jane Buckley auditioned for the role of Kathy, and went on to secure the role. Buckley was originally signed to an eighteen-month contract, but stayed on after. ''Hollyoaks'' is a British soap opera which originally began airing on Channel 4 on 23 October 1995. It was created by Phil Redmond, who had previously conceived the soap opera ''Brookside (TV series), Brookside''. From 2005 to 2023, episodes have aired on sister channel E4 (TV channel), E4 a day prior to their broadcast on Channel 4. Eva Cassidy
Eva Marie Cassidy (February 2, 1963 – November 2, 1996) was an American singer and musician known for her interpretations of jazz, Folk music, folk, and blues music, sung with a powerful, emotive soprano voice. In 1992, she released her first album, ''The Other Side (Eva Cassidy album), The Other Side'', a set of duets with go-go musician Chuck Brown, followed by the 1996 live solo album titled ''Live at Blues Alley (Eva Cassidy album), Live at Blues Alley''. Although she had been honored by the Washington Area Music Association, she was virtually unknown outside her native Washington, D.C., at the time of her death from melanoma at the age of 33 in 1996.
