Sarah El Haïry
Sarah El Haïry (born 16 March 1989) is a French politician of the Democratic Movement (France), Democratic Movement (MoDem). She most recently served as Minister delegate (France), Minister Delegate for Youth, Childhood, and Family in the Attal government in 2024. Previously, she was Secretary of state, Secretary of State for Biodiversity from 2023 to 2024 in the Borne government. El Haïry has also held the position of Secretary of State for Youth and the Service national universel, National Universal Service in two separate terms: first in the Castex government from 2020 to 2022, and then in the Borne government from 2022 to 2023. The Borne government ( French: ''gouvernement Borne'') was the forty-third government of the French Fifth Republic, formed on 16 May 2022 and headed by Élisabeth Borne as Prime Minister under President Emmanuel Macron. It served as a caretaker government in early January 2024, before Gabriel Attal was appointed prime minister by Macron. The Attal government ( French: ''gouvernement Attal'') was the forty-fourth government of the French Fifth Republic, formed on 9 January 2024 and headed by Gabriel Attal as Prime Minister under the presidency of Emmanuel Macron. The Democratic Movement (, ; MoDem ) is a centre to centre-right political party in France, whose main ideological trends are liberalism and Christian democracy, and that is characterised by a strong pro-Europeanist stance. MoDem was established by François Bayrou to succeed the Union for French Democracy (UDF) and contest the 2007 legislative election, after his strong showing in the 2007 presidential election. Initially named the Democratic Party (''Parti démocrate''), the party was renamed "Democratic Movement", because there was already a small Democratic Party in France.
