Russian Women's Basketball Premier League
The Russian Women's Basketball Premier League (officially named ''FONBET Premier League'' for sponsoring reasons) is the premier women's basketball competition in Russia. The category consists of 11 teams playing a total of 20 rounds. At the end of the regular season the top eight teams play the play-offs throughout April, ending in a 5 matches final. UMMC Ekaterinburg is the most successful team in the championship with 18 titles, including a record 13-year winning streak. Defunct team WBC CSKA Moscow, CSKA Moscow, later relocated to Samara, Russia, Samara as VBM-SGAU Samara (9), WBC Dynamo Moscow, Dynamo Moscow (4) and Spartak Moscow Region (2) follow in the palmares. WABA League, commonly known as the Adriatic League, is a top-level regional basketball league, featuring female teams from Serbia, Montenegro, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Slovenia and Croatia. Clubs from Turkey, North Macedonia, Hungary and Italy had their representatives in WABA League in past seasons. Since 2012 a Cadet WABA League and since 2014 Pionir WABA League is also played. The First Women's Basketball League of Serbia (; abbr. ПЖЛС or PŽLS), is a top-tier women's professional basketball league in Serbia. EuroBasket Women 2017
The 2017 European Women Basketball Championship, commonly called EuroBasket Women 2017, was the 36th edition of the continental tournament in women's basketball, sanctioned by the FIBA Europe. The tournament was awarded to Czech Republic after winning the bid to Serbia. The tournament also serves as a qualification for the 2018 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup in Spain, with the top five nations qualifying. As hosts Spain finished in the top five, the sixth placed team also qualified. The championship was reverted to a 16 teams championship, after the 20 teams that participated in 2015. Spain defeated France 71–55 in the final to win their third title. In total, 61 556 people visited this event.
