San Sebastian's Walk
The San Sebastian's Walk is a religious catholic event with ecological and sport characteristics, which takes place the last saturday of January of each year in the outskirts of the city of Maracay, Aragua State, in Venezuela. The route of this peregrination begins in El Limón and finishes in the Main Church of Ocumare de la Costa. The route is 29.09 miles long crossing the mountains of the Henri Pittier National Park using the only paved route that unites the city of Maracay with the coastal zone of Venezuela. Aragua State ( es, Estado Aragua, ) is one of the 23 states of Venezuela. It is located in the north-central region of Venezuela. It has plains and jungles and Caribbean beaches. Ocumare De La Costa
Ocumare de la Costa () is a small coastal town and the capital of the Ocumare de la Costa de Oro Municipality, located 25 miles north of Aragua, Venezuela. Called simply ''Ocumare'', the colonial town sits at the skirts of the Venezuelan Coastal Range, adding the peculiar natural elements of the Henri Pittier National Park. Production of cocoa and fishing are the main industries in Ocumare. The valley leads into the Caribbean Sea, making Ocumare's beaches an important touristic area in the country. Henri Pittier National Park
Henri Pittier National Park is the oldest national park in Venezuela, originally created in 1937 under the name of ''Rancho Grande'' by decree of President Eleazar López Contreras. In 1953 the park was renamed in honor of Henri Pittier, a distinguished Swiss geographer, botanist and ethnologist, who arrived in Venezuela in 1917, classified more than 30,000 plants in the country and devoted many years studying the flora and fauna in the park. Henry Pittier National Park has the honor of having started the history of national parks of Venezuela.
