Maracay
Maracay () is a city in north-central Venezuela, near the Caribbean coast, and is the capital and most important city of the state of Aragua. Most of it falls under the jurisdiction of Girardot Municipality. The population of Maracay and its surroundings in the 2011 census was 955,362. In Venezuela, Maracay is known as "Ciudad Jardín" ("Garden City"). History Officially established on March 5, 1701 by Bishop Diego de Baños y Sotomayor in the valleys of Tocopio and Tapatapa (what is known today as the central valley of Aragua) in northern Venezuela. The Girardot Municipality is one of the 18 municipalities (municipios) that makes up the Venezuelan state of Aragua. Henri Pittier National Park
Henri Pittier National Park is the oldest national park in Venezuela, originally created in 1937 under the name of ''Rancho Grande'' by decree of President Eleazar López Contreras. In 1953 the park was renamed in honor of Henri Pittier, a distinguished Swiss people, Swiss geographer, botanist and ethnologist, who arrived in Venezuela in 1917, classified more than 30,000 plants in the country and devoted many years studying the flora and fauna in the park. Henri Pittier National Park has the honor of having started the history of national parks of Venezuela. Juan Vicente Gómez
Juan Vicente Gómez Chacón (24 July 1857 – 17 December 1935) was a Venezuelan military general, politician and '' de facto'' ruler of Venezuela from 1908 until his death in 1935. He only officially served as president on three occasions during this time, ruling as an unelected military strongman behind puppet governments in between. Mariscal Sucre Airport is an airport in the Aragua state of Venezuela, serving the city of Maracay. The airport is on the northeastern shore of Lake Valencia also named Los Tacariguas Lake . The Sindoni Tower (also known as ''Filippo Sindoni Tower'' or the ''Torre Sindoni'' in Spanish) is a building located in the Venezuelan city of Maracay. It is the highest tower in the city.
