Samyang-dong () is a '' dong'' (neighbourhood) of Gangbuk District, Seoul, South Korea. From June 30 of 2008, Former Mia-1 and 2 dongs are combined for this dong. Samyang Roundsquare Co., Ltd. () is an international South Korean food manufacturer and the first instant ramen company in South Korea. Samyang was founded on September 15, 1961, by Jeon Jung Yoon. In 1963, Samyang debuted the first Korean instant noodle. History In the early 1970s, Samyang Foods converted a 20 km2 Daegwallyeong forest into a grassland to raise livestock. In 2010, Jeon In Jang became the company's chairman. The company is now placed third to fourth in the instant noodle market of Korea. Samyang Foods started exporting their products, increasing the company's profits. Recently, the company took over several restaurant chains to expand into the food service industry. Samyang Optics is a South Korean manufacturer of camera lenses for several major brands of third-party Lens mount, mounts for still photography and video cameras. The company was founded in 1972 and has about 150 employees. Samyang exports to 58 countries through 39 overseas agents and distributors. In July 2023, Samyang joined the L-Mount Alliance. On March 28, 2024, "Samyang Optics" officially changed its name to "LK Samyang Co., Ltd". "LK" stands for "Leading Korea".
