Samuel Vlčan
Samuel Vlčan (born 13 March 1971) is a Slovak politician and lawyer who served as the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Slovakia from 2021 to 2023. Biography Born in Partizánske, Vlčan was educated at grammar schools in Topoľčany and Banská Štiavnica, after which he studied at Moscow State Institute of International Relations. Vlčan studied law at the Comenius University between 1990 and 1995. Vlčan later worked in finance, being head lawyer of UniCredit Bank Slovakia and Slovenská Sporiteľňa as well as Member of the Board. He also served as the General Manager of Hypo Alpe Adria Bank in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Slovak branch of Sberbank. In April 2023, a company owned by Vlčan was reportedly allocated 1.4 million eur in funding from the Ministry of Environmental Affairs. Vlčan resigned on 4 May but refused to give up the subsidy. Ján Mičovský
Ján Mičovský (born 1954) is a Slovak forester, anti-corruption campaigner and politician. He was the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development in the cabinets of Igor Matovič and Eduard Heger. In 2009, Mičovský became a whistleblower over suspicions that the state-owned forestry company (which he had worked for since 2002) was losing millions of euros due to corruption and a lack of transparency in its allocation of hunting grounds. He resigned from the company in January 2010. From 2012 to 2016, Mičovský was a member of the National Council during the 2012-2016 term, being elected as an OĽaNO member. Mičovský announced his resignation on 25 May 2021 after his nomination for chair of the Slovak Land Fund, Gabriela Bartošová was arrested and charged in relation with a bribery case. Heta Asset Resolution A.G. is a "bad bank" that was the residual asset of the original Hypo Alpe-Adria-Bank International A.G., which was dismantled in 2014. Zuzana Čaputová
Zuzana Čaputová (; Strapáková; born 21 June 1973) is a Slovak politician, lawyer and environmental activist who served as the fifth president of Slovakia from 2019 to 2024. Čaputová is the first woman to hold the presidency, as well as the youngest president in the history of Slovakia, elected at the age of 45.
