Sampath (Kannada Actor)
Mavinakere Srinivasayyangar Cheluvayyangar, better known by his stage name Sampath, was an Indian actor known for his work in Kannada cinema as a character actor. After beginning his career with a Tamil film ''Rajalakshmi'' in the 1930s, Sampath took a break, before working in Kannada and English plays for a major part of 1940s. His Kannada film debut with ''Bharathi'' (1949). Some of his notable films include '' Gandhada Gudi'' (1973), '' Sri Srinivasa Kalyana'' (1974), '' Bhakta Kumbara'' (1974), '' Eradu Kanasu'' (1974) and '' Badavara Bandhu'' (1983). ''Mayura'' () is a 1975 Indian Kannada-language historical drama film, directed by Vijay. It is one of the most popular films of acclaimed Kannada actor Rajkumar, who plays the role of Prince Mayurasharma of the Kadamba dynasty, the earliest native kingdom to rule over what is today the modern state of Karnataka. The film depicts the life of Mayura, a Brahmin youth, as he discovers his royal heritage and realizes his destiny of ascending to the throne of the then-Pallava kingdom. ''Bidugade'' () is a 1973 Indian Kannada language drama film directed by Y. R. Swamy and produced by T. P. Venugopal. It starred Rajkumar, Rajesh and Bharathi along with a host of supporting actors. ''Baala Bandhana'' ( ) is a 1971 Indian Kannada language drama film, directed by Peketi Sivaram. The film stars Rajkumar and Jayanthi. The film was a remake of 1953 Bengali film ''Jog Biyog'' which was based on the novel of same name by Ashapurna Devi.
