Samir Kadhim Hassan
Samir Kadhim Hassan (; born 11 December 1969) is an Iraqi football defender who played for Iraq in the 1996 Asian Cup. He also played for Al Wakra Samir was a dominating and aggressive man-marker and a regular for the Iraqi national team during the 1990s. He was a member of Iraq's Asian Youth Championship winning team in 1988 in Doha, Qatar which included goalkeeper Emad Hashim, captain Radhi Shenaishil and attacking midfielder Laith Hussein. A year later, Samir participated in the World Youth Cup, helping Iraq top a group featuring Argentina, Norway and Spain, but in the 2nd round the Iraqi team lost 2–1 to USA. Samir was part of the 1998 World Cup campaign that ended when Iraq lost home and away to Kazakhstan. Samir retired from the national team in 1999, 10 years after making his debut. Emad Hashim
Emad Hashim Hassan (; born 10 February 1969) is an Iraqi football goalkeeper who played for Iraq in the 1996 AFC Asian Cup and 2000 AFC Asian Cup. He also played club football with Al Shorta for 14 years. After turning in outstanding goalkeeping performances for the Iraqi youth team, Ammo Baba brought Emad Hashim into the international setup when he was just a teenager. Amanat Baghdad Sports Club () is an Iraqi professional football team based in Karkh District, Baghdad, that competes in the Iraqi Premier Division League, the second tier of Iraqi football. Formed in 1957 as Amanat Al-Asima (), the team merged with Al-Baladiyat SC in 1977, who had finished as runners-up of the 1975–76 Iraq FA Cup. Iraqi Premier League
The Iraq Stars League (), is the highest level of the Iraqi football league system. Contested by 20 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Iraqi Premier Division League. It is governed by the Iraqi Pro League Association. The league was formed by the Iraq Football Association in 1974 as the Iraqi National Clubs League, the first nationwide league of clubs in Iraq, and later became known as the Iraqi Premier League. In 2023, the competition was rebranded as the Iraq Stars League and transitioned into a fully professional competition. The current format sees 20 teams playing 38 matches each (playing each team in the league twice, home and away), totalling 380 matches in the season. Laith Hussein Shihaib Al-Tawlid (; born 13 October 1968) is an Iraqi former football player who played as a midfielder and served as the captain of the Iraqi national team. He was vital to speaking out against Uday Hussein, the chairman of the Iraqi Olympic Committee, who was known for his brutality against the football team. Radhi Shenaishil Swadi (; born 11 August 1966) is a former Iraqi footballer and former coach of the Iraq national football team. Playing career Radhi Shenaishil was born and brought up in Al-Thawra City in Baghdad. He captained an Iraqi Under 20s team and helped them to top their group which included Spain, Norway and Argentina, who they beat 1–0 with Radhi scoring the winner from a penalty against a side featuring Diego Simeone and Roberto Bonano in the FIFA World Youth Championship in Saudi Arabia in 1989.
