Sami Yli-Sirniö
Sami Yli-Sirniö (born 10 April 1972) is a Finnish musician. He is currently the lead guitarist of Finnish metal bands Waltari, Barren Earth and German thrash metal band Kreator. He spent part of his life in Germany and thus has strong ties with the German metal scene. German ''Rock Hard'' magazine featured him in 2007 as "forgotten guitar hero". Biography While living in Germany, he served as a session musician for rock band In Rags, gothic act Tiamat and thrash metal band Grip Inc. For both Tiamat and Grip Inc., he played sitar, his second favourite instrument. Yli-Sirniö is currently endorsed by Ibanez. Waltari (1989–1995, 2001–present) Yli-Sirniö originally joined experimental Finnish crossover legend Waltari in 1989. He left the band in 1995 to live in Germany, returning in 2001. Hamferð
Hamferð is a Faroese doom metal band from Tórshavn, Faroe Islands, which formed in 2008. Biography John Egholm (guitar) founded the band in 2008; he called Remi Johannesen (drums) and they started jamming. The first show was in a band competition called ''GBOB'' (Global Battle Of The Bands) and Hamferð actually reached the national final of the competition. Meanwhile, Theodor Kapnas (guitar), who was studying audio engineering in Sweden, joined the band and most of the writing happened online. At that time Hamferð were joined by current keyboard member Esmar Joensen to complete the lineup. ''Gods of Violence'' is the fourteenth studio album by German thrash metal band Kreator, released on 27 January 2017. This is Kreator's final studio album with bassist Christian "Speesy" Giesler before his departure from the band in 2019. ''Phantom Antichrist'' is the 13th studio album by German thrash metal band Kreator, released through Nuclear Blast on 1 June 2012. The album entered the US ''Billboard'' 200 at No. 130, selling 3,900 copies in the first week. Release and promotion The album's title track was released as a limited edition 7" vinyl single, which sold out very quickly. It has since been released digitally. The B-side is a cover of " The Number of the Beast" by Iron Maiden. Kreator released a music video for "Civilization Collapse" on 28 November 2012. ''Hordes of Chaos'' is the twelfth studio album by German thrash metal band Kreator. It has been described as their most organic album to date because, barring vocals, guitar solos and some melodies, the album was recorded in a live setting on an analog tape recorder with few overdubs. Frontman Mille Petrozza noted that this was the first time they have recorded an album this way since ''Pleasure to Kill'' in 1986. He described the album as "it combines the best moments of our back catalogue with the intensity and experience of 2009".
