2023–24 Ghana Premier League
The 2023–24 Ghana Premier League, sponsored until 30 November 2023 as the betPawa Premier League, was the 68th season of the top professional association football league in Ghana that ran from 15 August 2023 to 16 June 2024. Medeama were the defending champions after winning the inaugural title in the previous season but finished 8th, partly due to their CAF Champions League commitments. Samartex finished top and won their maiden league title, thus they qualified for the 2024–25 CAF Champions League. The 2022–23 Ghana Premier League, known as the betPawa Premier League for sponsorship reasons, was the 67th season of the top professional association football league in Ghana. The season started in September 2022 and is scheduled to end in June 2023. Asante Kotoko are the defending champions. Teams Eighteen teams will compete in the league; the 15 from the previous season and the 3 winners of the Division One zones. The promoted teams are Samartex and Kotoku Royals who both achieved promotion for the first time. They replaced WAFA, Techiman Eleven Wonders and Elmina Sharks. 2024–25 Ghana Premier League
The 2024–25 Ghana Premier League was the 69th season of the top professional sports, professional association football league in Ghana. At the end of the season the winners qualified for the CAF Champions League next season while the bottom three teams were relegated to the Division One League. Samartex were the defending champions. On 8 June 2025, Bibiani Gold Stars won their maiden league title in dramatic style at the final round of matches after longtime leaders, Nations F.C., Nations FC, failed to win their last match of the season. The Division One League, currently known as the Access Bank Division One League for sponsorship reasons, is the second tier football league in Ghana organized by the Ghana Football Association. The winner of each of the three zones will be promoted to the Ghana Premier League. The Ghana Premier League is the top professional association football league in Ghana organized by the Ghana Football Association and formed in 1958 to replace a previous league incarnation, the Gold Coast Club Competition which ran from 1933 to 1953–54. As of the first quarter of 2024, the league was ranked as the 8th best league in Africa by TeamForm.com. The 2024–25 CAF Champions League, officially the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League for sponsorship reasons, was the 61st season of Africa's premier club football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the 29th under the CAF Champions League title.
