Samaniego () is a town and municipality located in the province of Araba (Álava), in the Basque Country, northern Spain. It forms part of the Rioja Alavesa wine region, and is located 10km west of Laguardia, 45km south of the provincial capital Vitoria-Gasteiz Vitoria-Gasteiz (; ; also historically spelled Vittoria in English) is the seat of government and the capital city of the Basque Country (autonomous community), Basque Country and of the provinces of Spain, province of Álava in northern Spain. Laguardia () is a town and municipality located in the southern province of Álava, in the north of Spain; it belongs to the region of Rioja Alavesa, in the Basque Autonomous Community. It had a population of 1,500 as of mid-2018. The place lies over a hill and it is surrounded by a wall that King Sancho the Strong ordered to build. Spanish postal codes were introduced on 1 July 1984, when the introduced automated mail sorting. They consist of five numerical digits, where the first two digits, ranging 01 to 52, correspond either to one of the 50 provinces of Spain or to one of the two autonomous cities on the African coast.
