Sala Parish, Mārupe Municipality
Sala Parish () is a territorial unit of Mārupe Municipality in Latvia. From 2009 until 2021, it was part of Babīte Municipality, after Babīte parish and Sala parish were merged as part of the municipality. Prior to 2009, it was part of Riga district. Sala Parish is defined by Latvian law as a part of the region of Vidzeme Vidzeme (; Old Latvian orthography: ''Widda-semme'', ) is one of the Historical Latvian Lands. Mārupe Municipality
Mārupe () () is a town in, and the administrative centre of Mārupe Municipality in the Vidzeme region of Latvia. The town is a suburb of the Latvian capital, Riga, but is a separate entity. Mārupe borders Zemgale Suburb, Riga, Zemgale Suburb of Riga to its east and northeast. The headquarters of the Latvia's Bandy Federation, Latvian Bandy Federation is located in Mārupe. A small river Mārupīte flows through the town, which gave the town its name. Riga International Airport is located just outside the town's boundary to the northwest. According to the provisions of the Administrative divisions of Latvia, 2021 Latvian administrative reform, Mārupe gained city rights (town status) on 1st July 2022. Riga District
Riga district () was an administrative division of Latvia, located in Semigallia and Vidzeme regions, in the centre of the country. It was the ''de facto'' successor of the historical Riga county since 1949.
