Saint-Josse-ten-Noode ( French, ) or Sint-Joost-ten-Node ( Dutch, ), often simply called Saint-Josse in French or Sint-Joost in Dutch, is one of the 19 municipalities of the Brussels-Capital Region, Belgium. Emir Kir (born 17 October 1968) is a Belgium, Belgian politician who has been mayor of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode since 2012, having been re-elected in 2018 and 2024. He was a member of the French Community of Belgium, French-speaking Socialist Party (Belgium), Socialist Party (PS) until he was expelled from the party in January 2020 after contacts with the Turkish Far-right politics, far-right. Jean Demannez (15 February 1949 – 1 December 2021) was a Belgian politician. He served as mayor of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode in the Brussels-Capital Region from 1999 to 2012. The 19 municipalities of the Brussels-Capital Region (All text and all but one graphic show the English name as Brussels-Capital Region.) are the political subdivisions of Belgium's central region. Guy Cudell
Guy Cudell (12 February 1917 – 16 May 1999) was a Belgian politician of the Belgian Socialist Party and the French-speaking Socialist Party (PS). He was first voted onto the council in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode in the Brussels Capital Region in 1946 and was mayor from 1953 until his death. Cudell was born in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre. Following his election to the council, he was put in charge of education, and was an early adopter of mixed-sex education in 1947, and family planning in 1962. He was also a member of the Chamber of Representatives (1954–1977), the Senate of Belgium and was minister for development in the cabinet of prime minister Edmond Leburton from 1973 to 1974. Charlier Museum
The Charlier Museum (; ) is a museum in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, a municipality of Brussels, Belgium, exhibiting Belgian art from the end of the 19th century. The museum is often used for concerts of classical music. History The current museum building was bought by an art collector Henri Van Cutsem in 1890. Van Cutsem hired Victor Horta, a famous architect, to remodel and extend the building. The renovation in Art Nouveau style was completed in 1893. In 1904, Van Cutsem died and left the house to the sculptor Guillaume Charlier. When Charlier died in 1925, his will requested that the house and the collection be opened as a public museum.
