Sailing At The 2012 Summer Olympics – Laser
The men's Laser (dinghy), Laser was a sailing event on the Sailing at the 2012 Summer Olympics program in Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy. Eleven races (last one a medal race) were scheduled and completed. 49 sailors, on 49 boats, from 49 nations competed. Ten boats qualified for the medal race. For the medal race, the top ten boats qualified. Each position scored double points. All medal races were sailed on course area Nothe in front of Weymouth. Weymouth And Portland National Sailing Academy
The Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy is a centre for the sport of sailing on the Isle of Portland, Dorset, on the south coast of England. The academy building is located in Osprey Quay on the northern tip of the island, and the waters of Portland Harbour and Weymouth Bay, adjacent to the site, are the main areas used for sailing. Local, national and international sailing events have been held at the site since it was opened in 2000, and in 2005 WPNSA was selected to 2012 Summer Olympic venues, host the sailing events at the 2012 Summer Olympics, 2012 Olympic and 2012 Summer Paralympics, Paralympic Games. College He claimed the 2008 ICSA Men's Singlehanded National Championship in his sophomore year and finished runner-up at the 2010 national championship and placed in the top ten in his fourth berths at singlehanded nationals. He was the 2011 NEISA Sailor of the Year and was a finalist for the 2011 Everett Morris Memorial Trophy as College Sailor of the Year.
