Sai River (Uttar Pradesh)
The Sai River (Sai setu), also referred to as the Aadi Ganga, is a tributary of the Gomti River in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Geography The river originates at a sprawling pond, named Bhijwan Jheel, on the hilltop at Parsoi, a village in the Hardoi district. It separates the region of Lucknow from Unnao. The river flows south by Raebareli, comes into the region of Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Pratapgarh then turns east and touches the Ghuisarnath Dham, from there it touches another Chandika Dham and moves Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, Jaunpur through the west . Most of the districts of Uttar Pradesh are situated on the banks of the Sai River. Shani Dev Dham is located on banks of the Sai River at Parsadepur. Culture Devotees take a bath in the Sai River and worship Baba Ghuisarnath with its water in India. It is one of the most sacred rivers in Hinduism. Hardoi district is a district situated in the center of Uttar Pradesh, India. The district headquarters is in the city of Hardoi. Hardoi is the third largest district of Uttar Pradesh. It falls under Lucknow division in the historical region of Awadh State. As of the 2011 census, the total population of Hardoi district is 4,092,845 people, in 730,442 households. It is the 13th-most populous district in Uttar Pradesh. History The present-day Hardoi district was created by the British after their takeover of Awadh in 1856. At the time of Akbar in the 1500s, the area of the modern district was divided between the sarkars of Lucknow and Khairabad. Unnao is a city and district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Unnao is located on the eastern bank of the Ganges River, and it is a satellite city of Kanpur. Raebareli () is a city in Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is the administrative headquarters of Raebareli district, and a part of Lucknow Division and comes under the Uttar Pradesh State Capital Region (UP-SCR). The city is situated on the banks of the Sai River, and center of four metropolitan cities i.e. Lucknow, Prayagraj, Ayodhya, and Kanpur. Parsadepur
Parsadepur, also spelled Parshadepur, is a town and a nagar panchayat in Rae Bareli district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is located on the north bank of the Sai river, at the crossroads between the road from Salon to Jais and the smaller road from Raebareli to Ateha. Historically noted for its large weaving industry, Parsadepur served as the headquarters of a pargana since the late 18th century. As of 2011, its population is 11,853 people, in 1,738 households.
