Upon opening in 2024, it absorbed the student bodies of the former Arthur Hill High School and Saginaw High School Saginaw High School (formerly part of the Saginaw City School District) was a high school located in Saginaw, Michigan, USA. History Due to declining enrollment of the nearby Arthur Hill High School and Saginaw High School, a proposal was brought forth in 2020 to consolidate the student bodies of both in one newer, more modern building. This plan was approved, and ground was broken on the new school in 2022. Construction of the primary part of the $85 million building was finished in 2024, after which the school began accepting students for its inaugural 2024-25 school year. Arthur Hill High School
Arthur Hill High School was a public high school in Saginaw, Michigan, United States. It served students in grades 9–12 as one of three high schools in the Saginaw Public School District. History The school was founded in the early 1900s (more information needed) and named after a successful lumbering and shipping owner, local mayor Arthur Hill. He was president of the school board for five years as well as the mayor of Saginaw three times. AHHS served the Saginaw school district for well over 100 years. In 2024, Arthur Hill students were moved to the newly built Saginaw United High School as part of the school district's consolidation plan. The former Arthur Hill building is currently in use as the campus for Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy. Saginaw High School
Saginaw High School (formerly part of the Saginaw City School District) was a high school located in Saginaw, Michigan, USA. The student enrollment was 405 at time of closing. History The school was established in 1865 as East Side High School. Alice Freeman Palmer, who later became President of Wellesley College, was principal of the school from 1877 to 1879. In early 2014, a proposal suggested closing the school due to financial issues, although this would not go through. In fall 2024, Saginaw High's student body (along with that of nearby Arthur Hill High School) was transferred to the newly constructed Saginaw United High School. The Saginaw High building is scheduled to see use as a middle school beginning in 2025.
