Safiye Ali
Safiye Ali (2 February 1894 – 5 July 1952) or Hatice Safiye Ali was a Turkish physician. She was the second female doctor in the Republic of Turkey. She graduated from the Robert College in Istanbul. She treated soldiers in the Balkan Wars, World War I, and the Turkish War of Independence. She studied medicine in Germany in 1916 and opened her office in Istanbul in 1923. Safiye researched maternal and infant health. She was also the first woman to teach medicine in Turkey. Early life Safiye Ali was born in Istanbul to Emine Hasene Hanım (her mother) and Ali Kırat Pasha (her father). Her father died while she was young, and she was raised in the house of her grandfather, Sheikh Hacı Emin Pasha of Mecca. Safiye Ayla (14 July 1907 – 14 January 1998) was one of the most famous singers of Turkish classical music. Early life She was born on 14 July 1907 in Istanbul. Her father, Mısırlı Hicazîzade Hafız Abdullah Bey of Egypt, died before her birth. Her mother, who was a servant at the Imperial Court, died also as she was only three years old. She was sent to the orphanage "Çağlayan Darüleytâmı" in Bebek, where she completed her primary education. Safiye Ayla was then educated at the teacher college in Bursa. Safiye Erol (2 January 1902 – 7 October 1964) was a Turkish novelist. She is one of the writers of the Republican Era. Early life Safiye Erol was born to Sami and Emine İkbal in Uzunköprü town of Edirne, then Ottoman Empire, on 2 January 1902. Her father was a clerk in the Municipality of Uzunköprü, and her mother was a member of the Bektashi Order lodge in Keşan. The family moved to Üsküdar, Istanbul in 1906. She was schooled in Üsküdar for primary education. Later, she attending the French Missionary School a while. Then, she entered the Deutsche Schule Istanbul for secondary education. In 1917, she went to Germany through a scholarship granted by the "German-Turkish Friendship Association". Safiye Sarıtürk Temizdemir, née Safiye Sarıtürk (born 12 October 1995), is a Turkish sport shooter competing in the trap event. She married Enes Temizdemir on 7 November 2021. In addition to her sports career, she also works as a physical education teacher. Sports career Sarıtürk Temizdemir obtained her license in 2010 and is a member of Kahramanmaraş Gençlik S.K. She has competed in various domestic competitions. She is coached by Ali Emre Guray. Her height is 1.63 m (5 ft 4 in), and she weighs 52 kg (115 lb). Safiye Sultan (; 1550 – ''post'' 1619) was the Haseki Sultan of the Ottoman Sultan Murad III and Valide Sultan as the mother of Mehmed III. Safiye was one of the eminent figures during the era known as the Sultanate of Women. She lived in the Ottoman Empire as a courtier during the reigns of at least seven sultans: Suleiman the Magnificent, Selim II, Murad III, Mehmed III, Ahmed I, Mustafa I and Osman II. After the death of Selim II in 1574, Murad took the throne as the new sultan in Constantinople. Safiye was by his side and moved with him to Topkapi Palace; less than a year into his reign she received the title of Haseki Sultan and was given a higher rank than the sultan's own sisters, Şah Sultan, Gevherhan Sultan, Ismihan Sultan and Fatma Sultan.
