Safa Al Hashem
Safa Al Hashem (born April 14, 1964) is a businesswoman and a politician. She was an elected member of to the Kuwait Parliament from 2012 to 2020. She was the only woman to win a seat at the Kuwait Parliament two consecutive times. Education Al Hashem obtained a degree in English literature from Kuwait University and completed her MBA from Pennsylvania State University. She also has a post-graduate executive education diploma from Harvard Business School. In 2011, she was awarded a Ph.D. (Honoris causa) by the American University of Technology. Career Al Hashem worked for the government in the Ministry of Higher Education. She later worked in various private companies being associated with PIC, PWC and the KIPCO Group. Safaa Al Sarai
Safaa Al Sarai (; 28 June 1993 – 28 October 2019) was an Iraqi activist who has been called the icon of the Iraqi tishreen protests. Background He was born into a family from Baghdad that lived in the Sha'ab neighborhood. He graduated from high school to enroll in the University of Technology, and during his school years he worked as a porter in a market in the Jamila commercial district. His father died early in his life, then his mother died from cancer in 2017. He later graduated as a programmer from the department of computer science at the University of Technology. After graduating, he worked in writing petitions in front of one of the buildings of the Traffic Directorates. Safaa (or Safâa) Erruas, born in 1976 in Tétouan, is a Moroccan artist. Biography Safaa Erruas was born in 1976 in Tétouan, Morocco. After a year of higher education at the Faculty of Sciences of Tétouan, she changed her course of studies and opted for artistic training. She graduated from the in 1998. Her work, abstract and minimalist, is most often dominated by a single color, white, which symbolizes for her, immateriality, silence, fragility in drawings that also include sutures, cuts and seams, like unhealed wounds. Safaa Fathy (born July 17, 1958) is an Egyptian poet, documentary filmmaker, playwright, and essayist. She is best known for her film ''Derrida's Elsewhere'', a documentary that focuses on the life and concepts of controversial philosopher Jacques Derrida. Early life and career Fathy was born in Minya, Upper Egypt, on July 17, 1958. She studied English literature in Cairo. Fathy participated in the student movement while in Egypt but later left the country and settled in Paris in 1981. In 1987, she was an assistant director at the Deutsches Theater located in East Berlin. Fathy worked with Heiner Muller in 1990. Safaa Kumari (; born 1963) is a Syrian born plant virologist. She is known for developing a disease resistant variety of faba bean that is resistant to the faba bean necrotic yellows virus (FBNYV). Life She was born in 1963 in Aleppo. She was brought up in Aleppo and she has several siblings. Between 1982 and 1985 she was at Aleppo University where she studied in the faculty of Agriculture. She began work looking at a virus that has been spreading from Ethiopia and it affects the important food plants of lentils, faba beans and chickpeas.
