Sadık Giz
Mustafa Sadık Giz (1911 – 1979) was a Turkish politician and former chairman of the Turkish sports club Galatasaray. Biography Giz was born in Söke, Aydın, in 1911. He was a close relative of political leader and former Turkish prime minister Adnan Menderes. Giz was a cofounder of the Democratic Party in 1946. He was elected three times as member of national parliament from Democratic Party as deputy of İzmir. In 1957 he was elected as Galatasaray President until 1959. Adnan Menderes
Ali Adnan Ertekin Menderes (; 1899 – 17 September 1961) was a Turkish politician who served as Prime Minister of Turkey between 1950 and 1960. He was one of the founders of the Democrat Party (DP) in 1946, the fourth legal opposition party of Turkey. He was tried and hanged under the military junta after the 1960 coup d'état, along with two other cabinet members, Fatin Rüştü Zorlu and Hasan Polatkan. One of the accusations brought against him was of him ordering the Istanbul pogrom against citizens of Greek ethnicity. He was the last Turkish political leader to be executed after a military coup. He is also one of the four political leaders of the Turkish Republic who have been honored with a mausoleum, the others being Kemal Atatürk, Süleyman Demirel, and Turgut Özal. The Galatasaray Islet () is a small island on the Bosphorus strait off Kuruçeşme neighbourhood in Istanbul, Turkey, owned by Galatasaray Sports Club. Being situated just north of the Bosphorus Bridge, its only accessible to Galatasaray members and their guests. Only from the European coast, the islet is reachable by free ferry service.
