Sabrina Chap
Sabrina Chap (born December 9, 1977) is a Brooklyn-based songwriter, cabaret performer, and author. She was born and raised in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. She is the editor of the anthology '' Live Through This: On Creativity and Self-Destruction''. She is most known for her involvement in the neo-burlesque and cabaret scenes as a musician and cabaret performer. Her two cds are ''Oompa!'' and ''We Are the Parade''. Literary Chap began performing slam poetry at Chicago's Ladyfest in 2000, leading her to perform in Ladyfest Amsterdam. The trip to Europe landed her in Paris's infamous Shakespeare and Company, where she lived for months in between touring in squats and cafes throughout Amsterdam, Luxembourg, Germany and Belgium. She was awarded a space and began working with members of Kilmoter Zero, writing a short play for their 24-hour play series. Elk Grove Village
Elk Grove Village is a village in Cook and DuPage counties in the U.S. state of Illinois. Per the 2020 census, the population was 32,812. Located northwest of Chicago along the Golden Corridor, the Village of Elk Grove Village was incorporated on July 17, 1956. It is directly adjacent to O'Hare International Airport and is economically important to the Chicago metropolitan area due to its large industrial park, located on the eastern border of the village. Eileen Myles (born December 9, 1949) is a LAMBDA Literary Award-winning American poet and writer who has produced more than twenty volumes of poetry, fiction, non-fiction, libretti, plays, and performance pieces over the last three decades. Novelist Dennis Cooper has described Myles as "one of the savviest and most restless intellects in contemporary literature." The ''Boston Globe'' described them as "that rare creature, a rock star of poetry." Madigan Shive
Madigan Shive, also known as Bonfire Madigan Shive, is an American songwriter, performing artist, community organizer, and musician. Shive is a cellist, singer and guitarist, formerly of the band Tattle Tale and now fronting her own ensemble, Bonfire Madigan. She composes symphonic pieces and performs for live theatre and film. She was a part of the riot grrrl movement of the 1990s and her songs have been included in independent feature and documentary films. Diane DiMassa (born 1959) is an American feminist artist, noted as creator of the alternative cartoon character Hothead Paisan, Homicidal Lesbian Terrorist, whose wild antics have been described as rage therapy for the marginalised. DiMassa is also active in oil painting and street art. Hothead Paisan ''Hothead Paisan'' made its debut in 1991, and was initially published four times a year by Giant Ass Publishing (Stacy Sheehan and Diane DiMassa). Fly (artist)
Elen Orr, known as Fly, is a comic book artist, illustrator, activist, and teacher whose art has been published in various magazines and fanzines, including ''Slug and Lettuce'', ''Maximum Rock 'N' Roll'', '' World War 3 Illustrated'', and The Village Voice, among others. She is also a former member of New York queercore punk band God Is My Co-Pilot. Fly came to work in New York in the late 1980s, and got involved with ABC No Rio, a social center for punks and artists located at 156 Rivington street in New York City's Lower East Side. Carolyn Gage (born 1952) is an American playwright, actor, theatrical director and author. She has written nine books on lesbian theater and sixty-five plays, musicals, and one-woman shows. A lesbian feminist, her work emphasizes non-traditional roles for women and lesbian characters. Early life Gage earned a master's degree in theater arts from Portland State University. Katherine Vandam Bornstein (born March 15, 1948) is an American author, playwright, performance artist, actor, and gender theorist.
